If you’re a teacher, scientist, mathematician, engineer, or a planner, then this might be right up your alley.

Are you someone who enjoys those light boards you see on criminal investigation shows such as Hunted, CSI, or Criminal Minds or military control rooms?  This DIY project will allow you to create your very own light board at a fraction of the cost of commercial products.  I managed to come across this tutorial while researching some ideas for recording/learning space at work.

DIY Light BoardNikkiL6 from Estrella Mountain Community College and her team put together a DIY Light Board that can be used to make videos of students or teachers explaining lessons and concepts.  With a big piece of plexiglass, neon markers, strip lighting, and items you can find at your local hardware store, they were able to design a function light board for under $100. Doesn’t seem to be an overly complicated and time-consuming project. I’d just have to find out where I could pick up a plexiglass sheet that size around my area. So yea, I’m really interested in making one myself…but I don’t know if work might pick up the bill for this one. Hmmm.  We shall see.  So if things come to pass, I will make sure to share.
