OK readers…this is not a movie post. It’s Friday and it’s early…and struggled with a whimsical title this morning to tie things in. 🙂
I did want to share with you this article I came across about a new medical device which may aid potentially thousands to millions in the future. It’s amazing the technological advances scientists and researchers are making these days in medical science!
A team lead by John Rogers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have not only found a way to measure heart function…but also regulate heartbeats if adverse conditions are detected. This new elastic silicon sheath completely envelops the heart, allowing it to measure and map various physiological parameters — from temperature and electrical activity to mechanical strain.
